2019 Annual Report
Financial reporting of company successes, focus areas, business growth and corporate citizenship in 2019. My roles: research, creative strategy and direction, design and layout.
THE BRIEF
Present Robert Half as a strong company and good investment. Highlight our progress in innovation and ongoing commitment to our people, our technology, and our business model. Tell our story more visually through beautiful photography and fresh graphics. Must have a contemporary feel reflective of Fortune 500 company. Must keep costs flat from last year.
RESEARCH
Our research found that several competitors' annual reports were strongly branded, limited color, templated YoY and less thematic. A few even offered an interactive experience, allowing the user to engage with chart data.
STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT
We explored interactive content ideas and interesting layout techniques to tell our story in an impactful way. As we developed cover concepts we focused on the spirit of innovation through bright photography, cut-out effects and incorporation of data visualization. I led the team in presenting these ideas below to senior leadership.
Concepts
FINAL REPORT
Our stakeholders were drawn to the warmth of this concept. It highlights the dynamics and optimism of a thriving business. We leveraged opposing yet complementary blues and yellow to represent moments of heightened intensity and calmness in business and kept the layout open and bright so it was inviting to read. Colorful icons help lead the eye while breaking up content.
RESULTS
In the midst of production, the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to find collaborative QA solutions in the shift to remote work. Overall response from shareholders and the board was positive, and we won both an IHAF Silver Award and a Graphic Design USA Award for the design and layout.
